Originally developed by DONTNOD Entertainment, all five episodes of
Life is Strange 2 are finally playable on Linux thanks to the porting work done by Feral Interactive. This is short on the heels of
Shadow of Tomb Raider's Linux port, which Feral released a little over a month ago.
The story follows two brothers, Sean and Daniel Diaz, that run away from their home in Seattle to try and reach their father's hometown in Mexico. The younger of the pair, Daniel, has developed telekinetic powers and they try to manage it as best they can.
As with other recent Feral ports,
Life is Strange 2 is Vulkan only and early impressions are that the game runs great. Even on max graphic settings, the modest LGN setup of a Ryzen 5 2600X and GTX 1060 was able to maintain at least 50FPS.
Feral's porting pipeline seems to be maturing and I hope that leads to more games, closer to their original release dates, coming in 2020.
Life is Strange 2 is available now
on Steam or on the
Feral Store.
