Nelly Cootalot: Spoonbeaks Ahoy! was the inception idea behind Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet. Released back in 2007 as a small freeware title, it's made it's way to Steam today with some HD upgrades.
The game will run up to 1080p and now features full English voice-overs. The creator mentions, more than once, that the lines are poorly done by him but I found them to be perfectly fine. I think they fit in well with the humour of the game.
The story is very much in the classic adventure style. It's a bit wacky with some well-placed humour and very charming overall.
I did have a small technical issue with a laggy mouse cursor in the game but that could just be an issue with my setup. I ended up playing through with the Steam controller and that seemed worked out fine.
Spoonbeaks Ahoy! HD is available on Steam and all proceeds after taxes and fees go towards a British charity for birds.
