The leaked version of the
new Steam library UI from SteamDB that surfaced last week has been officially confirmed by Valve yesterday.
In a post on the Steamworks development group on Steam, Valve has said a public beta for the new library is only "weeks away". They also recommend that developers upload new assets, to their store pages, so that there won't be any issues with the new layout (like those seen in the above image).
As was seen in the leak, game tiles are now vertically oriented so each game needs to have a properly image to display correctly. Additionally, games need a full banner image and a logo to display on the game page portion of the updated library.
The Steam Library overhaul was announced last March at GDC but, Valve being Valve, you never know when things will actually appear. It's great to finally see the new library UI and I'm really looking forward to.
